Soha’s Quill

Growing Blog Status in WordPress

17 July 2008 · 11 Comments

Just because I had a post about the Anwar-Shabery debate two days ago, the number of hits on Soha’s Quill increased a lot – creating the new record for the most number of visitors in a day(yesterday). Also, this blog is ranked at number 23 as a growing blog status!

It is interesting to note people’s inclination towards political write-ups and one thing I realised is that title plays a huge role. It’s is the same analogy as first impression counts!

Hello girl! nah, not a regular blogger- got out of it two years ago, but now, it’s more of a publicity necessity for me! ;-)

yeah Soha, you rock! Good on ya! Yeah, people are interested in politics, work related topics, and reviews far better than just personal random posts, that’s what I realized! My technical blog has been full with viewers as well though there are not many posts, but the ones that I post are usually useful ones @ direct links !

Thanks…yeah, I wish I had more time to analyse more about so many things – but the fact remains that it is easier to write personal stuff. However, moving on, I can see myself shifting interests…

I prefer a mix of personal and useful stuff. There’s no way I can maintain writing technical posts consistently.

Writing personal stuff fills in the gap, but I probably complain about life too much whenever I do that.

I think you have the makings of a search engine optimiser consultant. You might want to keep watch Monday, in case one of your subjects gets a lot of exposure.

Why Monday? That day was just a surge cos of the Anwer-Shabery debate.

Lesson learned: topic construction is important!

Soha: I meant this upcoming Monday.

I don’t understand why you choose Monday? Is there anything going on then?
